Been going to Los Perros for over 20 years now. They've closed quite a few locations like the original on Bird out west. Quality not the same, however it's still a solid meal when you're craving Colombian fast food.
I have been going to Los Perros for over 7+ years, and it never disappoints. When you want something to eat late at night, they are the place to go. The Super Perros is my go-to. My family likes their Maicito de bacon; their natural juices are also good, and passion fruit is my favorite. I've tried their bacon and cheese fries, and they are good and come in a generous portion. The service is always excellent and quick, even when they are swamped.
Los Perros was my first stop after leaving the airport. I had seen it listed as one of the best hot dogs in Miami and, since hot dogs are kinda my thing, I knew I had to go. It is located in the corner of a shopping center. Inside, I was really digging the vibes of the design. I ordered at the counter. I got the Super Perro and couldn't tell if there were side options. The cashier detected my hesitation and quickly asked if I wanted fries. I did! I took a seat and quickly a caddy of sauces, silverware, and napkins was brought over and it was shortly followed by my meal. The hot dog was BIG. The bun was so soft and pillowy. The hot dog had pink sauce, crushed chips, and pineapple on top. Delicious. I had seen the recommendation to add some of the green sauce on top and I definitely second that notion. It adds a bit of a garlicy savory flavor. The fries were good too and I enjoyed dipping them in the pink and the green sauces. Don't make me choose a favorite! (Pink!). Los Perros is definitely worth a visit!
Drink, drink and eat at Los Perros. I mean, they're open till 1 AM on weekdays and 3 AM on weekends for a reason, right? I stopped by at that kind of witching hour, eager for a warm tasty bite, after a successful fundraiser at a brewery during which I as the hostess got to chug beer. (Successful, I tell you.) The place is casual, almost like you're supposed to order at the counter and serve yourself, but we were seated and given table service, all while the place was mostly filled. I had a Maicito de Queso (corn bowl) for the first time, and I don't know what maicitos are supposed to be like, but this one rocked my tipsy world! Mountains of cheese (see photo 2), endless creamy, sweet corn and crunchy crumbled potato chips drizzled with bewitching red mayo, all for less than a sad fast food burger meal! I love that it was unashamedly served in a takeout container, so ideally, I could ask for a lid to it if I wanted to take it with me. Los Perros surprised me with this non meat dish, tucked in between all the loaded hot dogs, salchipapas and chicharrones that dominate their menu. Further surprising was the patience the staff had dealing with a packed house of, you know, people who are out after other people's bedtimes. Service was a little slow for our large group, but everyone accurately got what they ordered and were able to pay individually. Meet you there after a few drinks sometime?
Night burger!!! The whole menu is a hit! Love satisfying my late night cravings with Los Perros!
